2019 Y20 Summit in Japan.

What is the Y20?

The Y20 youth leadership summit brings together emerging leaders from G20 nations to collaboratively devise policy solutions for global challenges. Since 2018, Globally has been actively involved in selecting, training, and supporting the USA delegation to the G7 & G20 Youth Summits annually.

To strengthen diplomatic relations and leverage America’s 250 years of global leadership, the US has a valuable opportunity to lead by example and demonstrate a profound commitment to the G7 & G20 Youth Summits. These summits will cultivate a generation of leaders worldwide, equipped to address the complex challenges that lie ahead. Globally’s participation in this transformative program not only showcases its commitment to nurturing young leaders but also reinforces its dedication to finding innovative policy solutions on the global stage.

Leading up to these summits, each country’s selected delegates dedicate months to negotiating with other youth leaders within their specific thematic track, contributing to the drafting of a comprehensive communiqué with five priority areas for the G20 Youth Summit. This final document represents the amalgamation of individual track perspectives and youth insights from G20 countries.

This year, the Y20 Summit will be held from August 10-14, 2026 in Washington, DC and will be hosted by Globally and Young Professionals in Foreign Policy. The thematic tracks include:

  1. Global Economy and Job Creation

  2. Energy

  3. Innovation and Digital Transformation

  4. Fragility, Conflict, and Violence

  5. Food Security and Global Health
